Andreas Schelfhout A Frozen Canal near the River Maas, 1867
Andreas Schelfhout
(Dutch, 1787–1870)
Room Paintings holds four paintings by Andreas Schelfhout, from the Rijksmuseum. They date from 1820 to 1867. We file them under Early 19th-Century Painting and Late 19th-Century Painting. The most common subjects are landscapes, leisure and sport and winter and snow. All of them suit a room in our lists, most often the guest room and bathroom.
