Bathroom Paintings: Seascapes, Rivers and Botanicals

Water, shoreline, sky and botanicals, sized for the wall above the tub or beside the mirror.

Bathrooms want paintings that feel clean and airy: coastlines, boats, calm water, shells, clouds and botanical studies. Light palettes keep a small room open, and a single blue or green accent ties in towels and tile. Keep sizes modest, 11×14 to 24×36 in (28×35 to 60×90 cm), and choose a print on metal, acrylic or behind sealed glass, because humidity ruins paper over time. Hang away from the direct splash zone of the shower. We keep bathers and other nudes out of this room by default; you can find them on the artists' pages.
