Paintings from the Art Institute of Chicago

One of the great Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collections, with American and European paintings beside it.

The Art Institute of Chicago labels the images of its public-domain works “CC0 Public Domain Designation” and lets anyone use them for any purpose, commercial or not, free of charge and without further permission. Our selection from Chicago is smaller than from the other three museums. Read the museum’s open-access terms.

Room Paintings shows 347 of its paintings, with works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, John Singer Sargent and Vincent van Gogh. 316 of them suit a room in our lists, and 7 are among the works we feature. The grid below leaves out 21 nudes and violent scenes, which you can find on each artist’s page.
