Herman Saftleven

(Dutch, 1609–1685)

Room Paintings holds four paintings by Herman Saftleven, from the Rijksmuseum. They date from 1654 to 1663. We file all of them under Dutch Golden Age. The most common subjects are landscapes, rivers and lakes and seascapes. All of them suit a room in our lists, most often the bedroom and guest room.
