Jozef Israëls
(Dutch, 1824–1911)
Room Paintings holds six paintings by Jozef Israëls, from the Rijksmuseum. They date from 1857 to 1905. We file most of them under Late 19th-Century Painting, and some under Early 20th-Century Painting. The most common subjects are history, portraits and women. All of them suit a room in our lists, most often the hallway or entryway and staircase.
