(American, 1849–1925)

Room Paintings holds four paintings by Dwight William Tryon, from The Met. They date from 1887 to 1894. We file all of them under Tonalism. The most common subjects are landscapes, night and skies and weather. All of them suit a room in our lists, most often the bedroom and living room.
