Piet Mondrian

(Dutch, 1872–1944)

Room Paintings holds six paintings by Piet Mondrian, from the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cleveland Museum of Art. They date from 1906 to 1935. We file most of them under Early Abstraction, and some under Early 20th-Century Painting. The most common subjects are abstract, geometric and forests and trees. Five of them suit a room in our lists, most often the living room and apartment or dorm.
